Are you tired of setting goals and not achieving them? We all have goals that we want to achieve, both in our personal and professional lives, whether we realize it or not. We might want to improve our relationship with our loved ones or streamline our workday to get more done. Whether your goal centers on weight loss, blogging, personal health, or anything else, you can see real progress after just ninety days. Here’s how to make a goal and stick with it for ninety-days.
Write It
The first step to making any goal should be to write it down. Write it down somewhere that you will see it every day. Start by putting it on your bathroom mirror. You’ll see it every morning as you get ready for the day. Put it on your door, on the fridge, or anywhere else that you know you will see it throughout the day. If you keep a journal or a blog, record it in these locations so you remember exactly when you started working on this goal. Write down some of the reasons you want to achieve that goal, too.
Make It Measurable
The key to making a ninety day goal possible is making it measurable. How can you be sure you’re moving forward if you don’t have any metric for your progress? Come up with a scale that lets you know how well you are doing on that goal. It could be as simple as something like the star charts our elementary school teachers used to track whether or not we were reading every day. Did you work out today? Did you blog today? Did you work on your goal today? Come up with a scale that allows you to determine whether or not you’ve actually made progress.
Look at It
Don’t just write it down in one place and then forget about. Looking at that goal every single day and making an effort to seek it out and look at it is extremely important. If you forget, even for a week, you likely will lose the fire and motivation that made you want to work on that goal in the first place. If you look at it every day, you’re much more likely to stick to your ninety day deadline.
