Hi everyone! Thanks for joining me today. This is the eighth and final installment of my blog series on the top eight motivational strategies. I hope everyone is having a great day. After significance/purpose, today, we’re going to discuss Life Balance. It is the last of the motivational strategies that we covered in a series of posts, and you can read about them right here!
Our post today is about how to use life balance as a motivational tool for your team members. This strategy will positively impact your team’s performance and help them grow and excel. This strategy will work best in a small, family-owned business. So, how to use it?
Using Life Balance in a Family-Owned Business
Life is most enjoyable when you have enough time for everything, not just work. In today’s society, it is common to be overworked and to neglect other aspects of one’s life in favor of work. Many people find that while they may be doing well in their work life, other things, such as relationships, aren’t going well. They don’t have time to unwind, they don’t spend enough time with their families. They also neglect to take care of themselves. This may seem reasonable in light of a busy schedule, but it’s not the way to go. A lack of life balance will result in burnout and poor performances, not to mention potential health problems.
Ensure that your employees are rewarded with the opportunity to maintain a healthy work-life balance. You could motivate them by encouraging self-care, doing fun retreats, and hosting company events where friends and family are welcome. It’s also important to set realistic expectations and deadlines. Efficiency is wonderful, but you don’t want to sacrifice quality of life for speed.
If you don’t have a good life balance as a family, make a promise to work on it together and make it part of the company culture.
Conclusion
Life balance is essential. Allowing your employees to have a healthy work-life balance can be a phenomenal source of motivation. I’d like to encourage you to try this motivational strategy, and as always feel free to leave comments regarding your experiences as you try it. I’d love to hear about your results. It’s always a good idea to send us your questions by email if you prefer!
That concludes that series. Thank you once more for joining us and sticking with me through it all. I’ll be back soon with a new blog post, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, make it a better than amazing day!
