In part one of this topic, we discussed my biggest hiring disaster and the mistakes and lessons that came with it. Hiring the wrong employee is time-consuming, stressful, and costly. On the other hand, finding the right employee to hire will reward you with boosted productivity, positive working relationships, and a pleasant workplace overall.
Finding the right employee is crucial, but it’s also a challenging process. I’ll make sure to make it easier for you down below in this article. So, let’s dive in!
Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked with so many different organizations and companies. In the process, there are many conversations about a lot of different things. Once you get to a certain point in your company and grow to a certain level, however, the majority of the conversations start to center on people. It often becomes about how to find employees, attract employees, get employees to stay with you, and train employees.
You also have to think about how to onboard new employees, find outsourced employees, and find the right vendors. When it comes to getting to the next level, it really is about employees, employees, and more employees.
There are certainly ways you can grow without hiring lots of employees. Still, if you want to get to the next level, you’ll eventually need to be able to get results through other people.
I’ve heard many business owners talk about frustrations regarding how to find employees. There have been many conversations about problems in that area and what didn’t work. So it comes as no surprise that many people have a plethora of negative connotations in their heads about bad experiences they’ve had with team members, employees, or employees they’ve hired. Some have been stolen from, others have been stabbed in the back, and still others have dealt with incompetence on the part of those hired, among other things. The people I’ve talked to have had a variety of experiences, and the number of negative things people have on their minds is almost amazing.
With that in mind, I have to ask you a really important question: Do you believe it’s realistically possible to surround yourself exclusively with great employees? Do you believe you can build a team consisting only of employees who are on board with your culture and are highly skilled for the job you want them to do? Do you believe this is possible? Many people don’t, due to a lack of examples or negative experiences, and that’s their main obstacle to finding the right employee.
Since lack of belief is the main obstacle to finding the right employee, you have to focus on your mindset. It’s all about overcoming that limiting belief system that tells you it’s not possible. It’s still a challenge to find competent employees, but it’s completely doable. However, you need to build a system that allows you to overcome it, and building this system will require the help of experts in order to avoid mistakes that will cost you both time and money.

Finding the right employees may be easier said than done, but it is beyond doable. I just want you to remember the following, no matter where you are today: it’s possible, you can do it, and it’s worth it. It takes a lot of effort and a lot of energy if you do it without enough experience, but that’s something we’d be more than happy to help you with!
